Experts say that when wind power drops to 1.5-cents per kilowatt-hour in the next few years, electrically generated hydrogen, using wind power, will be competitive with gasoline. (189) That’s a threshold of historic importance, because it defines the moment that we have the capacity to bring cost-effective, sustainable energy to the world.

To help us get there, China and India are investing heavily in wind and hydrogen. They know that to sustain six billion or more global citizens, the next economy must move beyond fossil fuels alone.

Californians know that too. Fair play for renewables – and reductions in subsidies for fossil fuels – will drive even more growth in the industry, and make clean, green hydrogen an affordable path for California.
