With ESG subject to rising political and legal risk, corporate leaders are staying the course but shifting their nomenclature and sharpening their business case to convey the financially material benefit of sustainability-related investments. Multinational companies continue to invest in pollution reduction and circular business models across their supply chains to drive innovations that reduce energy, maintenance, material, and transportation costs while revealing new market opportunities. In this session, we will hear from Tensie Whelan, the Distinguished Professor of Practice of Business and Society, and the Founding Director of NYU's Stern Center for Sustainable Business. Prior to joining the Stern School, Tensie led Rainforest Alliance, which grew under her leadership into one of the largest  sustainable market transformation groups in the world—working with thousands of companies and millions of producers. She brings a wealth of knowledge on how to drive sustainability-linked value creation in different sectors, corporate board governance, and evolving consumer expectations of companies.
