Transition500 – our global network

Changing business, for good

Future 500 is a proud partner of the global sustainable development consultancy network, The Transition500 Alliance, with offices in North America, the EU and Asia. The Transition500 Alliance is a network of the world’s foremost independent sustainability consultancies with the capacity to cover 15 markets in North America, the EU and Asia. It is led by some of the most prominent sustainability thinkers and advisors, professionals who have worked at the highest levels of the multinational business, government and NGO sectors.

No business can any longer afford to ignore sustainability and all of Transition500’s partners work to get this message across. For those businesses which recognize that embracing sustainability is an urgent necessity in a globalised economy, Transition500 is a formidable ally. We help businesses navigate this landscape of risk and opportunity in such a way as to facilitate market access, deliver growth, and create value for shareholders, customers and employees. We work with companies at national, multi-market or global levels. We believe… …that in a global marketplace, as population and consumption levels increase, businesses will need to transform themselves into more sustainable, efficient and responsible organizations. This is as much about shrewd business strategy as environmental outcome.

To understand how sustainability and climate risks affects any business requires access to the very best advice from those with a breadth and depth of professional expertise drawn from science, business, policy, communications, law, and environment. Only by understanding the connectedness between the actions required to achieve more sustainable practice can any business effectively position itself for the future.

How we work Between them our principals have deep practical experience of business strategy, change management, campaigning, policy and regulation, research, infrastructure, and science, having developed strategies for governments and businesses around the world. Transitions500 aims to take on projects with high potential impact outcomes, and to work with clients that we believe can have a significant impact on their sector or industry through leadership, example, and supply chain.

The changes required to transform a business involve more than producing reports and arranging briefings. Change to a sustainable model involves the establishment of new systems, new structures, new ways of working, new corporate cultures and these take time to achieve. Our role is to guide businesses through this evolution. The lead office for global clients is usually the office where the client is headquartered – but not always. It may be in the most critical market for that client, or where the heaviest concentration of its employees are, or its most sensitive operations.

Where we are Transition500 has offices in the USA, covering Canada as well; in the UK; in France (also covering Italy and Spain); Belgium; Germany; Japan; and Australia, also covering New Zealand. We are about to open an office in Singapore, and we have affiliates in Scandinavia, Brazil, and China.
