Future 500 | Finding common ground between uncommon allies
Senior Manager of Stakeholder Engagement

Marvin works at Future 500 as a Senior Manager of Stakeholder Engagement. He supports Future 500’s Energy & Climate program and will also be working to enhance the dialogue between ideologically opposed political groups. Marvin has a diverse professional background that has seen him working with NGOs in Europe and the United States addressing issues such as promoting sport as a tool to address social concerns, cancer prevention, and public education. Marvin is excited to pursue his passion of working with stakeholders to advance solutions to social issues.

Marvin holds a B.A. in Political Studies, History, and Spanish from Pitzer College as well as a M.A. in International Studies with a focus on International History and Politics from The Graduate Institute Geneva.

Cultivating a passion for social causes abroad

Marvin’s interest in environmental and social issues was piqued during his college years where he had the opportunity to study abroad in Ecuador. While in Ecuador he examined the role of NGOs addressing social needs in the coastal and sierra regions and also explored the delicate relationship between oil companies and indigenous communities in the western Amazon.  While in graduate school, he had the opportunity to work with the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace to assist the UN in their efforts to use sport as a tool for development and peace promotion, advocacy, and raising public awareness, as well as with the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) to help the global health community accelerate the fight against cancer. His time with these organizations helped him gain invaluable experience working with an array of stakeholders across the globe.

Cooperating to create change

Prior to joining Future 500, Marvin worked at Education Pioneers in their mission to develop nontraditional leadership for a broad range of public education organizations. Through this experience and others Marvin realized the importance of collaboration, and outside the box thinking to address social issues.
